By way of a general contractor that my company uses every now and then (not to mention i used to work with one of their VP's), i got a free ticket to attend the ATT National last Friday.  It was great.  I got to see so many golfers (yes, including Tiger).  I hung out at the green at the 4th hole for most of the day and it worked out well.  The flagstick was about 30 feet from where i was and I saw so many golfers up close.  They included: Tiger, Love III, Begay, Daly, Janzen, Choi (he made birdie on that hole), Appleby (he made birdie too), Beem, Vijay, Boo, Kim, Gore, Lonard, Kelly, Herron, Furyk (with fluff cowan at the bag).  Others i saw on different holes: Mickelson, Scott, Andrade, Haas, DiMarco, Weir.  Obviously, the biggest crowd followed Tiger but there were so many others that you could have followed without having to deal with crowds.  I'd definitely recommend going to next years event (go on a thursday or friday to avoid crowds).  How often do you get to see so many of the world's top golfers (walk right next to you) on a US Open venue for as little as $65 (a 4 day pass)?

it's a day late but if you could pray for VBS this week at ncfc...specifically the teachers/counselors along with michelle and christine, who are directing the whole event.  there's a lot of work, planning, patience, and love that they give to these kids...so imagine how tired they must be at the end of each day.  keep up the good work....you guys are awesome.  we're praying for you.

My latest  bone marrow biopsy results were positive...as in good news.  to back-track a little, the bone marrow biopsy that was done by NIH about a year ago indicated that my genetic makeup was not normal.  It turned out that i had an extra chromosome (hence, my wife saying that i'm a mutant). An extra chromosome isn't much of a big deal to someone who is healthy but it's more of a cause for concern for me since my MDS is more suseptible to get worse because of the abnormality in my chromosome count.  The latest bone marrow results showed that my bad chromosome count got smaller and my good chromosome count got bigger (it's a lot more complicated than that but this is the simplest way of explaining it).  Thanks to all of you who have been praying for me.  I'm not completely out of the clear since my white blood cell count is still lower than average...but i feel healthy and havent felt like i've been coming down with infections or illness more than anyone else.  Praise God for this awesome news.

Thanks for those of you who came on Saturday.  The weather couldnt have been better.  We wanted to say thanks to all of you who've supported us and prayed for us.  We hope you had plenty to eat....and speaking of eating, we got a new grill!  For over 6 years, our little char-broil served us well (man, i had that grill even before i met my wife).  but it was too small to accomodate a large group and it was seriously showing signs of old age.  I think everyone who saw our old grill felt pity over us.  My in-laws had pity over us too and offered to get us a new grill.  after some research we got this:

genesisE310_hero

It's the Weber Genesis E-310.  Ours is black unlike the blue one shown above (although the blue one doesnt look to bad either).  I havent been able to use it yet but i'm excited....I guess there's more pressure on me to grill perfect meat now that i have this beast of a machine.  haha.
